TEREA and HEETS are both IQOS tobacco sticks, but they are built for different devices. HEETS are pushed onto a heating blade in older IQOS models such as IQOS ORIGINALS and IQOS 3 DUO. TEREA carries its own metal heating element inside the stick and works only in IQOS ILUMA and ILUMA i devices. They do not swap either way.
Device facts come from the IQOS pages listed under Sources. Stock and prices are from this site on 16 October 2026; TEREA prices are per carton of 10 packs, 200 sticks.

What changed: from blade to induction
HEETS were made for IQOS devices with a heating blade. The stick is pushed onto a ceramic blade that goes into the tobacco plug and heats it. Because tobacco can be left on it, IQOS advises cleaning an IQOS ORIGINALS device after every pack of sticks.
IQOS ILUMA removed the blade. Each TEREA stick carries its own metal heating element, placed in the tobacco, and the device heats that element by induction. Because the stick is sealed, IQOS says no tobacco residue is left behind and an ILUMA does not need cleaning after use.
What is inside each stick
- TEREA: a front seal, a metal heating element coated with stainless steel, the tobacco, an air-flow chamber, a cellulose acetate cooling plug, a protective paper wrap and a filter mouthpiece.
- HEETS: a tobacco plug, a hollow acetate plug, a polymer-film filter, a cellulose acetate mouthpiece filler, and outer and mouth-end papers. There is no metal heating element.
The heating element in a TEREA stick is a sharp metal part. IQOS warns never to take a TEREA stick apart or swallow any part of it, and to keep sticks away from children and pets.
Why they don’t swap
HEETS in an ILUMA device. A HEETS stick has no metal element for an ILUMA to heat. IQOS says the device starts only when it detects a TEREA stick, so a HEETS stick will not work in IQOS ILUMA or ILUMA i.
TEREA in a blade device. A TEREA stick is sealed and is not built to be pushed onto a blade. IQOS says TEREA should not be used with earlier IQOS generations such as IQOS 3 DUO, as this may damage the device.

Questions about TEREA vs HEETS
Are HEETS the same as TEREA?
No. Both are IQOS tobacco sticks, but HEETS are heated by a blade in older IQOS devices, while TEREA has a metal heating element inside the stick and is heated by induction in IQOS ILUMA and ILUMA i devices.
Can I use TEREA in IQOS ORIGINALS or IQOS 3 DUO?
No. IQOS says TEREA should not be used in earlier IQOS devices, as this may damage the device. TEREA is made for IQOS ILUMA and ILUMA i only.
Does the TEREA origin change which device it fits?
No. TEREA from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Indonesia, Italy, Switzerland, the UAE and Japan fits every IQOS ILUMA and ILUMA i model. The origin changes the flavour range and the price, not the device it works in.
Do you sell HEETS?
No. Buy Terea Dubai sells TEREA sticks from 8 origins and six IQOS ILUMA and ILUMA i devices. We do not sell HEETS, blade devices or accessories.
